ASHER

Asher was born on May 20, 2010 in Tampa with Down’s Syndrome. His adoptive parents were saddled with extensive medical bills due to his heart conditions (Tetralogy of the Fallot/heart murmur/hole in the heart), and he needed additional surgical procedures. Heart of Adoptions Alliance, Inc. was able to help his parents, Jennifer and Jefferson, finalize their adoption.

MILES

Miles was born on December 15, 2014. His birth mother came to us to create an adoption plan for him, as she knew she did not possess the means to care for him. An adoptive family accepted Miles as their own, but they needed help to provide ongoing medical care for him. Miles was diagnosed with Microcephaly, Patent Foramen Ovale, Muscular Ventricular Septal Defect, Dysmorphic features, Grade III Vesicoureteral Reflux, extensive brain damage which caused him to have seizures, Cortical Vision Impairment, and Cerebral Palsy. Unfortunately, Miles passed away at two years old. He had the most loving and caring family that provided everything they could for him. Heart of Adoptions Alliance, Inc. was able to help with medical bills, as well as funeral costs to ease the burden on his family.

SOFIA

Sofia was born on October 27, 2013 in Naples with congenital bilateral cleft lip, bilateral cleft palate, ASD, optic coloboma, congenital aural loss and a g-tube for feeding. Her parents were saddled with extensive medical bills due to her many health issues. Heart of Adoptions Alliance, Inc. financially assisted Sofia’s parents to help finalize the adoption.

TRISTEN

Tristen was born on October 6, 2009 and was diagnosed with severe autism. He lived with his mother and his maternal grandparents until they were found brutally murdered in Florida. His father was incarcerated in connection with the slayings, and Heart of Adoptions Alliance, Inc. stepped up in this very complicated case (due to jurisdictional issues, DCF involvement and conflicts between the NJ and Florida) to get Tristen adopted and secure the intensive services he will need for the rest of his life.

CHARLIE

Charlie was born at 28 weeks gestation in Orlando, Florida, and was diagnosed with Shone’s Complex and had to have surgery to correct the coarctation of his aorta in his heart. He also had been diagnosed with Mitral Valve Stenosis and needed to be oxygenated until he was strong enough for a second surgery. He was being monitored for possibly having Spina Bifida Occulta. His birth mother sought out and chose a family with limited finances to adopt him. Although the family had the ability to raise a child, they did not have the resources to pay for the required home study, adoption agency fees or attorney’s fees. With the help of the St. Frances Fund provided by Heart of Adoptions Alliance, Inc., Charlie’s family was able to obtain a grant to finalize his adoption.

SAMUEL

Samuel was born in Brandon, Florida in April 2013. His birth mother sought out and chose an adoptive family to adopt him. After forging a bond with her and eagerly anticipating Samuel’s arrival, the adoptive father lost his job and a few months later, the adoptive mother’s place of employment eliminated her position (although she was able to maintain employment for much less pay). The family sold t-shirts in order to help raise the funds to finalize the adoption and pay for the required post placement supervision, court costs, adoption agency fees and attorney’s fees. With the help of the St. Frances Fund provided by Heart of Adoptions Alliance, Inc., Samuel’s family obtained a grant to finalize his adoption.

DAMEIN

Damein was born on April 13, 2016. His birth mother came to us to create an adoption plan for him, as she knew she did not possess the means to care for him. Damein was born at 25 weeks gestation. He was diagnosed with Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Respiratory Failure, 2 Vessel cord in his heart, Patent Ductus Arteriosus, Pseudomonas Bacteremia, Necrotising Cellulitis involving the anus, Hypotension and susceptible to brain bleeds. Doctors were unsure of how Damein’s life will turn out. He suffered from developmental delays, ongoing feeding issues, and a shortened life expectancy. Damein needed extensive medical care for the remainder of his life. With the help of the St. Frances Fund, Damien’s family was able to receive financial assistance to finalize his adoption.

EVAN

Baby Evan was born on November 29, 2013. His birth mother came to us to create an adoption plan for Evan, as she knew she did not possess the means to care for him. An adoptive family accepted Evan as their own, but they needed help to provide ongoing medical care for this sweet boy. Evan suffered from both severe Hydranencephaly and massive Hydrocephalus. With his brain and ventricles full of fluid, Evan had less than 25% brain tissue. He was given a prognosis of less than 1 year to live. Doctors suspected Evan to be blind and never reach any typical milestones in his lifetime. Thanks to your generous donations, Evan received the best care available during his short time here with us.
